This is a 3D model, not a photo. The first real rings are still being made.

I make rings out of 316L stainless steel. Each one has a channel cut around the middle, and a thin silicone insert sits in that channel.

Pull the insert out and put a different one in, and it’s a different ring. The insert also sits a little proud of the channel, so there’s a ridge your thumb can find without looking for it.

The channel

A channel runs all the way around the outside of the band. It is cut into the ring rather than stuck onto it.

The ridge

The insert is wider than the channel it sits in, so it overhangs the rails and stands proud of the metal. That raised line is the point.

The swap

The insert comes out and goes back in by hand. One ring in different looks, without buying a second ring.

What it is made of

The band is 316L stainless steel. The insert is moulded silicone.

Every ring is polished bare steel on the inside, whatever the outside is. Black is a coating on the outside only, so a black ring is silver where it meets your finger. That is a choice, not an oversight.

The inside is comfort fit, domed toward the finger so the edges are eased away from the skin.

Getting the size right

Fit is the one thing you cannot check from a photograph, so it is worth measuring rather than guessing.

Measure a ring you already wear rather than your finger, and measure the inside diameter across the widest point. A ring that fits is snug going on and comes off over the knuckle with a little resistance.

Where things stand

Still in prototypes, and nothing’s for sale yet. If you want to know when the first rings are ready, email me and I’ll tell you.

I grew up in Anchorage, and I make rings.

I picked the name because it carried more than one thing at once. Anchorage is where I’m from. An anchor has a ring at the top of it. And anchoring is what you do when you need to hold on to something. All of it fit, so it stuck.

I want to make things people keep. Not things they buy, things they still have in a few years and would notice the absence of.

I’m building a series of rings rather than one. They won’t all be the same idea, and I’d rather get each one right than get a lot of them out.
